Besides doing reliable oil changes, as always, I brought my car in when I had flashing lights going blinking on my dashboard. I had recently put a large dog crate in my back seat that ended up blocking some vision from the rear view mirror, which triggered the lights. Hoping for the best, I brought the car in.... And, whew (!), it was determined the crate did trigger the lights. They rebooted the light panel and ta da - no more blinking lights!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you John Ellis & Son! Came in early one morning dealing with a huge bolt in my tire that completely flattened it. The folks over at John Ellis & Son, specifically Alex, were super super helpful. Dropped by truck off there since I had to go to work but they did everything they could to update me on the status of my car, frequently checking in via calls making sure I was completely up to date with the status of my car. Alex was incredibly helpful, professional, and did an amazing job. In a really great location with a private lot so I had no trouble finding parking for the shop! Will definitely come here again if I ever have any car troubles!

I try not to leave bad reviews, especially for small businesses. I've muddle this for a few weeks. But, after taking my car to a different place & confirming exactly what I needed is what I requested of John Ellis & Son, I felt I needed to share my experience. The good: the online website makes it easy to schedule an appointment. Nice location in Midtown. Unfortunately, that's where this ends. The not great: The first appointment I made was never confirmed and never approved. When I arrived, they didn't have me on the schedule. I rescheduled and listed exactly the tune-up maintenance needed: coolant flush, transmission flush, spark plugs, freon check, and belt check. When I arrived to my rescheduled appointment, I was asked when was the last time I got an oil change (my windshield sticker was current with date/mileage due). I said not for another 1k miles. It was recommended to do it early and the things I wanted done would be checked & completed at the same time. I reluctantly said yes (red flag #1). I was told time to return my car was unknown as they may not have the parts (red flag #2). The bad: I arrived back at 4:30, not knowing if my car was done. I was told they did the

I have been a loyal customer of John Ellis and Sons for years and have always valued their service, until recently. When I experienced an issue with a new set of tires I purchased from them, I reached out to the manager hoping for some support or acknowledgment of the issue. Instead, I was dismissed entirely. As a result, I had no choice but to purchase a completely new set of tires from another business just months after buying from John Ellis and Sons. This is the first and only issue I've had with John and Sons. What stings most is not the tire issue itself, but the lack of care as a long time customer. A little acknowledgment goes a long way. Unfortunately, this experience has made it difficult for me to return or recommend them going forward. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating.
